Re: K & N
As far as I could tell when I had one, the only real advantage is that you'll never have to buy another air filter.
I didn't really notice any other effects of having it in there, so I went back to OEM.
I would say it's just down to the individuals preference.
Chris.

Re: K & N
is that a k&n cone filter or one that fits in the oem airbox?
different induction sound as well - or at least it is on my mg bubble.
used to know the guy who made all the placcy bases for k+n filters but he went bust.
wonder who makes them now???

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
Re: K & N
i was refering to the one that fits in the oem airbox, i know they often make a diffrent noise when used with a car but not sure about bikes.benny hedges wrote:is that a k&n cone filter or one that fits in the oem airbox?

Re: K & N
Do a search on K and N, there was many an hour spent arguing the toss over the merits and cons. My advice is go with a BMC or Stock. If you dabble with a Kand N get the bloomin thing dyno'd.

Re: K & N
Got a K&N and cans on my storm
Never had a problem although some have posted that they’ve had problems setting them up
Pro’s take it out clean and oil it once a year and you don’t need to replace it and it flows a little more air
Con’s take it out clean and oil it once a year (when will they invent a self cleaning air filter)

You can only clean the surface dirt off, not the particles that have embedded themselves in the filter.seb421 wrote:erm, im still using my original filter (23,600 miles) as far as i know it has never been changed, ive cleaned it my self but its still the original looked okay last time i looked at it.

I agree. I change mine at the recommended intervals normally. It didn't look that bad at 12,000 miles, but I could tell the difference a new one made. I also washed the little foam filters inside the air box at the same time, but make sure you dry them fully before refitting.Phil-VTwin wrote:You can only clean the surface dirt off, not the particles that have embedded themselves in the filter.seb421 wrote:erm, im still using my original filter (23,600 miles) as far as i know it has never been changed, ive cleaned it my self but its still the original looked okay last time i looked at it.
