It could also give plod something else to eye up "if your leaning the bike over that far young man I consider it to be dangerous on the queens highway"........ and we now have a mearsurement that can determine your style of riding.

Those markings look a bit wimpy to me. Room for at least 3 more!!
I was born with nothing and I still have most of it left.
Re: Fancy a tyre with built in lean indicator?
Dunno about the effectiveness of the strips...but from an advertising point of view it's worked wonders! Every bloody bike forum on the web has a thread about these tyres!
Anyway, as any fule knos getting rid or rear chicken strips is a piece of piss......look at the front tyre if you wanna see the measure of a rider.
And Timbo...you're right about the Maxxis...my trackbike still has some on the rear. Scarily though, it looks like I am getting to the edge on the front..I do hope that I don't run out of tread on the front first

I don't get it
All they've done is put numbers on what we all used to gauge by eye. What's the big deal?
Depending on your riding style, suspention set up and most of all model of bike all the levels of lean are different anyway. It's not going to change my riding habbits in the slightest and I'm certainly not going to try and get the bike lower going around a bend.
(I'm already off the edge when I want to be

My new ride is a bit of a Howler and I love to make her Squeal
Re: Fancy a tyre with built in lean indicator?
I think its a very clever bit of marketing, which will probably help sales tbh-but I'll not be buying any
Next thing will be a "Willywavingometer" on the new R1 or the like
If I can go for a blast, get home in one piece, wash the bike and park in the garage I'm quite happy.
I don't really feel I need a lean indicator to enhance my riding pleasure or compete with anyone in discussion/comparison when out and about.
Just my opinion

maybe the 'lean indicator' is to see if you're too heavy to ride?
as in how lean you are?
if you squash the elephant you're a fat b8stard and need to lay off the maccys.

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

I'm sure I have been to a few nighclubs where that was de-rigueurTimbo wrote:Come on chaps, you all know you want to Chase the Elephant![]()

Playing de-rig the elephant was a lot funnier.....Zakalwe wrote:I'm sure I have been to a few nighclubs where that was de-rigueurTimbo wrote:Come on chaps, you all know you want to Chase the Elephant![]()

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
