Reg Rec's

I know that it is best to use a Yamaha reg/rec and I've got the modification paperwork printed off.

Does it matter if it is an R1 or an R6 one and does it matter what year / series of those bikes it came off?

It has to be the earlier rectifier iirc 97-2001 models. It must look like the one in this link:-

An R1 or R6 rectifier will be fine.
