i belive the early 16 L tank bike hard more power than the later 19 L tank

read some where ages ago it was 110 and 90 (bhp)

mines fooked at the moment feels like its running on 50bhp!!

feels like the clutch is slipping, its smokeing, is now 'coffing' back through the air box on almost every down change to 2nd and 1st, thinking the vales need sorting the carbs need jetting and balenceing and probably a clean too!

also need a new subframe so the exhaust will meet correclt at the join.

You'll be lucky to see 110rwhp out of any Storm-even with a filter, decent exhausts and a jet kit.

Mine managed 107 and that had all the above. Most standard storms-of any tank size-chucked about 90 out at the back wheel, at the place I used.

Obviously figures vary from dyno house to dyno house

Tests back in 1998-99 listed figure of between 103 and 104.7 BHP on rear wheel of stock "old" model VTR.
Honda data listed slightly lower figures for VTR as of about 2000 comparing to pre-2000 model.
I also noticed some subtle changes to specific settings of carbs and ignition of older and newer models.
No idea why - this is all from workshop manual, reviews and test by Motorcycle.com and few other mags.
German version of VTR always been more restricted for example than Belgian version. Again - not idea why.
Japanese version of VTR have less steep camshaft, restricted intake and some carbs difference.

I also remember that while o-60 figure was not that impressive in various tests roll on figure in 4th something like 60-120 (or was it 40-100 or 60-100, can't recall) like was incredibly good, better than way more powerful and fast bikes.
But generaly IMO VTR is not really fast bike in contemporary world. It shines in curvy tight Alps roads thou - I loved it there.

i think the 110bhp was probaly mesured at the crank, dont quote me tho.
