Had a half day today, got all excited when it dawned on me I might be able to grab my first bit of storm time this year.
She's been sat in the garage for probably 3 months, but the trickle charger had done its job so a quick tyre pressure check and we were ready to try starting her.
Bit of choke and and hold the starter button for about 20 seconds and she coughed into life, just enough time on the driveway to let the neighbours know that the bike season has started.
Took it easy for the first 5 or so miles, just warming her up and easing the brakes into life, after that it was like finding an old friend again, especially all that short shifting grunt in 3rd and 4th !!, and the lovely popping and burbling on the downshift.
But bloody helll the state of the roads, every roundabout that once was a favourite courage tester had a bloody long line of ripped up tarmac, right on the line you wanted to be on. Most of my time wasnt spent with forward vision it was looking at the 2 meters in front of me trying to avoid falling into the grand canyon.
Still smiling though........you cant beat it........... glad I had the afternoon off.

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Re: State of the roads 2
I did exactly the same today (Tue 2nd), beautiful day for it, but as you say the roads were crap. At times I felt I was green laning whilst going down dual carriageways.
Stopped at Gunthorpe for half an hour with a J2O(£2!!!) ended up talking to 2 lads from Mansfield, who regaled me with their high speed antics. As we were leaving one of the lads dropped out that he was a copper
Anyway, despite the road conditions it was great to be back on the beast, gonna spend the day cleaning it thoroughly today.

Re: State of the roads 2
was just a drive by tbh timbo m8, stopped for 5 mins to warm my gloves on the cans cos theres no room for the heated grip switch on the vfr bars
looks like they've started repairing it from the bolton end, a574 is it, so by about 2015 they should have reached the barn lol.
was 10c when i set out but must've been close to freezing up blackburn way.#
i like them roads at back of wheel(ie)ton but was a bit busy yesterday with work traffic.
rode back through chorley etc, pulled a crackin accidental wheelie on the sliproad of the 61, past a line of cars!

I left Rivvy at 5:15 and it was 2 degrees according to Mr honda.
You are truly the favoured one.

Ask him about the CCT's next time you see him

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
