I've never really been a V Max fan, but then again I've never ridden one either, so I would like to ride one just to know what it's like.

Very impressive figures for this latest beast I agree, including the price  but to me what's the point in having all that power with very little wind protection :?: If it's just for pose value then may be that's fair enough :)

Local yam dealer had one in a few months ago sitting right next to the old vmax. One thing you could never accuse the old max of was looking weedy but the new one made it look like the wee specky guy in the mr muscle adverts. The new one is huge.......I'd love one.

I like everything about it except for the fugly exhaust system. If I had one it would quickly be replaced by an aftermarket system.

scary machine!
you wouldn't want to drop that on yer toe, bet it weighs a ton!
agree on the lack of fairing, anything over 120 would be hard to sustain with the upright position, wouldnt like to imagine how quick it gets there!

Dunno about everyone else, but to me the main joy of motorcycling is the acceleration.
Top speed is just numbers, once you're past 120 or so.
Doesn't feel any quicker, stuff just happens quicker.

Moving out to pass a lorry at 140 needs to be planned a fair way down the road, and stopping distances are longer, of course.

So to me acceleration is about as good as it gets, not too fussed over a missile that'll do 180 instead of one that can do 170.

That makes the V-max one of the top bikes around. IMHO.
Just wish it looked better is all......

But would I buy one?
Not at that price.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I agree with Timbo and Tony. Its the buzz of nailing the throttle from slow bends and snicking up the box that gets me going. Problem is my riding style is terrible on tyres, imagine how quickly that thing would skin a rear! Deffinately would like a go.

Skin the rear 8O
more like take a strip out of the tarmac
Totally agree with you guys, I'd rather be having some fun pinning it coming out of the corners than chin on the tank seeing what she'll do in a straight line.
Any fool can scream down a motorway. And I find if I hold back before getting to the next set of bends it just increases the anticipation a little longer too :wonker:

I have friend who are kinda tall guy, always having troubles choosing bikes. He rides Aprilia Futura now and really happy with it.
He tried ride new Vmax demo and was totally suprised - his words is that it feels less spacy than scooter he got in his garage for grocery duties :) (he lives in France). I sat on Vmax and must admit he got a point. Very cramped for no reason, and I am short guy.
BTW it flopped so far....sales-wise. Not sure why.
Anyway, not my cup of tea....

i would guess the price tag has a lot to do with it.
fair enough you get a lot of bike for your dosh but for that kind of money you could buy anything else on the road.
doesnt do it for me either, but the seat looks comfy!

Timbo wrote: Chris - that looks amazing till you get to the swing arm, looks like it is made out of straws slipped inside each other, certainly doesnt look up to the job :)

Looks like he has had the zorts made by that shiity company that doesnt know how to route them round swing arms too :) Other than that,
Tim,
Yes I agree, you do have a point about the exhaust pipe work.

How about this one then :?: Different exhaust system and swingarm.

that rider looked like he was scared of the bike.
he revved it like an angle grinder.
probably a daft idea riding a fast bike in fog when you only have like 50ft visibility lol.
saying that, off out on mine in a bit, buying a scottoiler :)
