Oil (again)
Oil (again)
Is it ok to use Castrol 10w30 fully synthetic in a firestorm?

Re: Oil (again)
I thought that using fully synthetic oil caused problems with the clutch that is why you should use semi synthetic.

Re: Oil (again)
That's exactly the problem.
And not that this'll be a problem with Storms, but you should never use it in a new engine either as the rings etc can't bed in properly.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
Re: Oil (again)
So, as mine has done over 50,000 miles. should be ok then?

Re: Oil (again)
As long as it doesn't make your clutch slip, yes.
Try a few hard launches to see if you can cause slipping; if so switch to semi-synth.
But I'm personally not convinced it'll be better than semi, just more expensive.

Mmmm, I'm becoming a doubting thomas on this one, I think I'm going to stay with semi. Anyone want to buy 4 litres of castrol power 1 10w30? (unopened funnily enough)
