My first bike was a 1973 Honda 250K. Horrible thing. Underpowered, heavy, soggy suspension, flexible frame.

Oh yeah, they ate cam chain tensioners too. So much for progress.

I wouldn't have one now if it was free.

First bike

Post by SuperWheelie996 »

My first bike was Red puch, I would sit on the basket on the back, give full throttle and pull as hard as i could and do wheelies on it, dumped it hard once, still got some battle wounds from that one. Then i bought a "92" Suz GSXR 600,for $2000, thing was a beast, good for straight roads, and dropping the clutch at about 6000rpms ,to get the front tire off the ground, by the time I was done with it, it would max out at 80mph, and shake like it was having conculsions, the left cartridge on the front was blown from to much one wheel driving, a couple minor repairs and I sold it for $1600, 2 years later mind you. Now i got the HAWK, I love my Bitch!!

Correction

Should read 'What's that you say Sooty?' Went from funny (well, I thought so) to offensive in one easy lesson! Is this why everyone hates bikers? Or am I just a tw@?

I am sadly old enough to remember puchs and ss50's, but I first started on an AP50.......

1974 mine was and green just like kawasaki's racing green. It was ported and had a micron exhaust. It blew itself to bits at least once a month in the quest for 70mph.
