yeh bud, got a claim going on against bolton council highways dept atm for damage to the bike, leathers, helmet (fukt), personal injuries, a month off work etc etc.
using that sorry mate site & tbh theyve been spot on so far, - dalgarno solicitors.

bolton council have already been up there and patched up the potholes that caused the crash, on the recomendation of the copper who attended the scene - he was sound btw, surprisingly.
said he'd forward on his report to me (today as he's been off 2 days), be interesting to see what he said.

he played down the speed i was going, judging by the skidmarks (in my pants lol) and noted other piles of bike debris at the scene, saying it was a black spot caused by the holes right on the blind bend, just as you come over the hill.
really pissed me off tbh, was enjoying a nice leisurely ride, not going mad, just on my way back for my tea, totally did not expect to be off and be sore as fl lol.
i look like purple aki atm, bruised to crouton in places ive never had to wash.

started it up yesterday tho and it ran ok, itching to get it stripped down and rolling again but cant touch it til assessor has been on tuesday :(

if there's any bits going spare let me know lol - also maybe the right time to do a colour change :D

Blimey Benny, gutted for you. As folk have said, at least you're ok-ish. Good luck with the mend & insurance malarky. :(

after pricing round, and deciding i cba waiting 7mths to get my bike back, i had a look on ebay and theres a few good uns being broken atm.
decided to go for a full plastic set, new tank, already ordered the mirror, gearchange and indicator.
only thing is, looks like the bike will be............ yeller :whatever
bonus is, it's the bigger tank model so i'll be able to ride it harder for the same distance, between falling off.

not ordered a subframe or swing arm yet, decided i'll have a look how bad it is first.
don't want to use insurance seeing as it wasnt my fault. instead just get it assessed on tues, then fix it up and give them the bill.
looking at it, if i replace the plastics then respray it, id be looking close on a grand on bodywork, which is stupid.
also, cos the tank is dented, if i repair it i'll lose maybe another 1.5litre in capacity :/

Hey Benny, I'm absolutly gutted for you.I hope you heal up quickly and get your bike sorted real soon.
I had a bit of a moment with a pothole near Wheelton myself last week( reported it)so it will probably get mended in the next year or so

was going to continue down from blackburn into bolton down the 674 and the only reason i ventured into rivi was because last time i was up there i passed the pub at the belmont end and they were tarmaccing the road.
think i posted here somewhere that they were resurfacing it...
just wondered how far they had got.

seemed they had got as far as the res, and didn't really notice any major defects even past the jumps on top, that's why it took me so much by surprise.
in the pics i took right after the crash, even the copper couldn't believe why they had patched up some smaller holes but left the bad ones.
even now, the repairs they have done are proper shoddy, just botched up squares with holes around the edges and haven't even bothered to brush the gravel and stones off the road.
it's all gone in my complaint to the council with pics of the half arsed repairs.

they want fkin imo, especially now after the police have made a complaint.
if someone else gets hurt now they should get hung to dry.

best advice i've heard yet - stay away from the area, it'd be a real shame if another storm gets wrecked there.
not worth it for a £1.50 brew!

just to put you in the mood for lurve, have a look at my big sexy butt cheek...

Looks like a track day bike opportunity to me!
Glad you're ok, though.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
