Lydden Hill 24th July

Post by Giddsy »

Anyone up for it?

I've never done a track day and this looks like a good enough place to start.

£100 from 9 to 6, 15 mins out of every hour on the track..

At the moment I am trying to rally a few peeps from round here and thought I'd see if any stormers are up for showing 'em how it's done! :?

Cheers,

James

Marshalled there once- you won't have to spend long learning the course! :D

Watch the power-on highsides, especially on the only proper left-hander, and Chessons Drift can unload the rear, too.
The lap's so short the tyres don't cool down much between left-handers, though.

But IMHO Brands Hatch offers a much better circuit, and it's nearer from Brighton.

How about an evening at Brands?
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I did my first day there last year. Fantastic fun, we did the short circuit so no trouble with learning it. Paddock hill bend what an butt clencher then as you hit the dip your stomachs up in your mouth.
Definitley going back there this year.
Didnt get me knee down though, but the aim was to enjoy it and be able to ride her home in one piece. Was grinning like a schoolboy grabbing his first tit !!!

Evening at Brands is an option for sure Tony, just figure a day for about the same price, albeit on a smaller track, is better value for money. And Silver Twin's review seems to back this up!

Is that operation storm weekend... hmmmmm.... decisions.

Lydden only has four corners and isn't really suitable for a bike with more than 600cc, IMO. Brands Indy is way better plus it's wider and if you don't have your stomach in your mouth the first time you go down Paddock Hill and up to Druids, you're not human! It's more expensive but it's worth it.
