There are no "normal" figures listed as idle speed and engine condition will alter the readings but as long as difference between them is less than 20mm Hg then thats fine.

If she pops on the over run she will only stop when you have sealed all the leaks in the exhausts.

there doesnt seem to be any pattern to the popping, its a bit strange really, carbs off and cleaned new plugs, balanced the carbs, going to take it out later after i have had a play with the brakes, going to be a while before shes 100% i think,

thanks for the advice on the exhaust will give that a good going over this afternoon as well

mine pops occasionally but hasnt stalled with it (yet)
what i have noticed is the tickover starts off ok at about 1100rpm, but every now & then wavers all over the place from 800 - 1400, whether it's hot or just warm.
i thought it might be due to lugging it around town, but it still does it at the lights after a fair speed run.
i put it down to carb balance.
got all new vac and fuel pipes to fit as well.
only seemed to do this since i fitted my scottoiler so was wondering if it could've been due to extending the vac line on the front pot??

when it's built back up, the oiler is taking vac from a tee on the fuel tap, and each carb is having an adaptor & valve fitted for easy balancing gauge fitting.
got some nice quality gauges and accessories off ebay for 25 notes, 4 cyl so i can do my other bike as well
