Meta 351a fault

Post by Silver twin »

Hi guys bit of a shot in the dark but here goes.

Got up at 6 this morning ready for a ride, key in the bike ignition, turn on and then I press the alarm fob and it disarms with a single "beep". Push the starte and the engine fires up, but then about 5 seconds later the engine stops and the alarms arms itself with 2 "beeps".

It then continued to do this until all the neighbours were awake and I realised that I had a problem with the imobiliser.

In the past any time the alarm has become a bit "confused" disconeting the bike battery and re connecting has cured it, I will try this......

But habe any of you had anything similar.

Mine started playing up - did have a problem with one of the fuses to the alarm unit where you couldn't see a break but there was a hairline break which sonmetimes connected and sometimes didn't, so you might want to check that.

Eventually it immobilised the bike permanently (the day before I was due to go to Wales) and I then stripped it out completely - not hard to do.
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!
