Gazumping Moriwaki Storm

Post by Wicky »

Odd bidding history?? on the Moriwaki Storm recently featuring on ebay recently

A tad over £3000 seems sad short change after £42,000 expenditure in its heyday.

I thought that too...

Maybe it was something to do with the reserve? Which I know was that price... So the bidder kept upping the bids to get to teh reserve?

That's a good bike, I've seen it...

All I hope is that whoever gets that bike looks after it, that's a proper piece of bike history there and should be taken care of properly.
What a treasure.

Ah right - hunting out the reserve would likely explain it.

Hope the beastie storm gets to snort petrol and lay down some rubber instead of lying dormant

If it were mine (if only) I'd get rid of the 80's proto chav shell suit colour paintwork and fit a top box instead :shh:

The buyer started at ten to six and it took until five to eight to get the winning bid in.
Got braver and braver over the course of two hours.

The trouble with the paint job is that it's original. I agree it's terrible, but it would be difficult to give it up. Especially when you watch it on the video tape at the 1998/99 BSB season....

I'll be hopefully using my ST3 in anger in summer. Got a few minor things to do to it then hopeful of trying to use it as intended. Apparrently, as it was a race bike (same as the ST2 of course) unless you are giving it full throttle and full brake, like a switch, the airbox fills up with fuel from carb overspill! I think it's along the lines of the bike saying, here's as much fuel as I can take, use it... I can only dream of using it...

Someone got a good deal on that bike. It's a treasure really....

Well said gilly, I don't think you can underestimate the importance of a bike like this, or yours for that matter.
Really magical stuff.

On that rumbling note...

Has anyone invited Roger de Revolution as a keynote guest to the Storm gathering this summer?
