reg/rec mod

Post by Anotherbikerbabe »

hi guys

I have trawled through 20 pages on here and there are lots of advice on which ones to get,and I saw a post off someone the other day asking if a Thundercat R6 one will fit? but I cannot find the whole thread as no 'sticky' at the top of the workshop for the most common problem mods needed..Help me OBIE ONE, YOU'RE MY ONLY HOPE!!!!!!!!!!

Mine went today just as I was about to take my bike out after spending hours polishing it yesterday too :-( But at least it is gleaming back at me when I look at it.....

So guys,I have the chance to pop out today and pick it up a finned one from Eddy.I have one or two earmarked on ebay and one in particular from an R1, i'm unsure of, it has two connectors coming out of it and not one?

I did this mod a few years ago, and im sure ive got an R1 unit fitted. I got it off ebay for less than 15 quid delivered.

Had no problems since. theres a post somewhere in here detailing which wires to connect where , into the firestorm loom.

Thanks guys

It basically started playing up on Sat and seemed to be will go/won't go ok etc etc you know how it goes..It died twice within 6 miles but managed to get it home after Dave swapped the batteries over and bumped his (chucking it down btw). I wouldn't care, I was just looking at some last night on ebay and so today I looked for someone really close, the closest was Edinburgh, went up, got it for £28 as listed for £35, got it home. Dave fitted it in mins, then he took my bike (as we live in the middle of a hill) rolled it, bumped it and away he went hooray! He took it for a quick spin, all ok, came home, got his bike out and we went out for around 50miles. Job done.. Alls well as I got out same day, and the guy on ebay answered my email in minutes(which helps) after I told him basically, I have a Storm and the guys on here have recommended the R1/R6 reg etc and he then emailed me to say he had a one off a Storm! yeah.......This guy was really helpful so I'd defo use him again. They have a breakers yard literally down the road from the bike bits place and the place was huge. I simply turned up, picked it up and left. It looked really new too and the finned type.

Thanks guys for all the pms and the advice and help offered, very much appreciated. ...
