I think I will go for BT-021's, unless......

Anyone have suggestions, what is the current thinking - bearing in mind they will have to deal with a 80mph, 300 mile round trip, once or twice a month in the Summer....?

looks like they were a bit too soft - maybe for a commute you'd be better with a sports touring tyre.
might be worth trying the maxxis while theyre cheap - you could get 2 sets for the price of the bt's

Always been a Bridgestone fan though - from BT-010's on my ZXR750, to 014's on my 7R...

The new 023's look good - I can get them for £180 for the pair....

very strange wear / deterioration marks, if it was mine i would worry,............ unless I knew that I did too much skidding/burnouts/popping wheelies!!!

you need a dual compound for the commute, not sure if the bridgstones are, as its not one I have used.
I have the Michelin sport tour 2CT on mine at the mo, and very happy with the grip levels, and the dual compound looks to be working, but not enough milage yet to be able to predict how long they will last

got a pair of michelin pilotroad 2s on mine, cracking tyre imo plenty of grip and feel, my bro runs them on his blade and had 5.5k out the rear and 3 trackdays.

Yes, the commute is hard on them I'm sure - a 150 mile hit (between fuel stops) 80ish (plus a bit lol) almost all of it bolt upright. Every time I've done the trip, the tyre has looked shredded - it was only a matter of time before I finished them off.

Dual compounds do seem to be good - but then a Sports Touring might be a thought - no knee down antics for me now - one more crash and I might shatter the cage that's holding my back together - hello wheelchair etc...

Michelin sport tour 2CT highly rated expensive but you get what you pay for.Got them on my 98 storm good all rounder.Did have bridgestones on my gpz1100e excellent but dont do the milage that the michelins do

I know I am not helping but I still use Conti Road Attack rear and Sport Attack combo front and entirely happy with them. I never saw them wearing way yours wore to be honest...

I tried venerable Dunlop Sportmax...mmm...207? 208? on VTR and must admit they were suprisingly good. I mean - if you looking for cheap variants.
I never liked BTs for their not very aggressive profile. And Michelins Pilots saw me sliding down the road on my back behind my bike just because it was cold weather, so I am totally off Michelins. Probably wront approach, but..
On my other bike I kinda like Pirelli combos - Corsa variants on back and some softer corsa/supercorsa variants at front. Not very long lasting thou.
