Hi guys
ive got polished wheels on my storm they looked stunning however due to me using this bike everyday and the lack of light to clean the wheels they have have now dulled to an brushed aluminium look and have pitted badly they look horrible.
They used to be a wonderfull mirror finish on the them which autosol got some of this back on the edges but this took 2 hours and i only did an inch.
Surely there is a faster way to getting my wheels to look how they did? any ideas?

Re: Polished Wheel Help
get a dremmel or similar and carry on with the autosol, use the white round polishing heads to rub it in then just buff it off, i found it very theraputic [spelt wrong] then once they are done, use 2-3 coats of laquer to protect the finish then you just need to wash them off after the dust has built up.

I like the idea of not having to use sandpaper like I thought I would
Re: Polished Wheel Help
Could you not clip a bit of sandpaper to the edge of the mudguard and let the wheel do the work while you're riding?

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Re: Polished Wheel Help
i'm about to polish the lips up on my rear wheel [on vfr 800 rear wheel, sssarm conversion], i'll be taking off all the paint with nitromores then using my dremel with the soft copper head to strip any stubborn bits, then just polishing with autosol, once the centre has been painted satin black to match the front i'll be laquering the whole thing to protect not only from weather but also from future tyre changes.......! its just a case of sitting down with the dremel and the polish and letting it do all the work.
