Found this today, might be worth putting on here. Dont know if any one has tried this or that they all ready know about it.

Wierd,
I never heard of this before...but in the true spirit of mythbusters, have just grabbed my multimeter and tested
a couple of motors.
Now antifreeze/coolant has a distinctive sweet taste...'ethelyne glycol' is really not good for you so don't drink it,
and always keep it away from children.
Don't try this at home but to the trained tongue it is possible to get an idea of coolant strength(honestly i aint kidding).
just a little dab then spit it out......mmmmm sweet, sweet antifreeze
My results are as follows:
1. VTR1000F coolant, tasted sweet but not that strong,i expected it to be borderline......reading 0.04
2. Golf Gti coolant,tasted very sweet and strong,i expected this to be full strength.........reading 0.01
An antifreeze tester backs these results up.
My conclusion to the experiment is that it actually does seem to work, although i would like to test some more first.

Just checked mine. reading of 0.11. So I take it mines well protected .

Sounds interesting but I'm a lazy f---er.
Just buy a couple of bottles of "ProCool" from Silkolene and pour it straight in.
Pre mix is the way to go for what it cost

i do a bit of work on process chillers with methylene glycol coolant - the non toxic variant...
the way i test concentration is either take it to the site labs and they have a meter that tells me instantly, or i decant some off into a bottle and use a manometer to measure the specific gravity then read off a scale to give a % glycol.
same way as you would test the gravity of battery fluid or home brew lager
not heard of a reliable way to test coolant with a multimeter tbh.... as said ^ just put new in and poison some rats by pouring the old stuff down next-door's grid.

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
