Mark,
yes same as you, I had to machine a bit off caliper and fork to get clearance for the CBR600 caliper, and I did worry that there may be contact, but I checked and can see a decent sized gap all round the mountings.
Good to know yours is working well, and I know what you mean by "treat them with respect". With the Nissin pads the initial bite was so strong I can imagine on a less than perfect road I will need to reprogram my head & hand to make sure I didnt just garb a handfull like you could [had to] do on the old Storm set up.
Front end judder when braking
Re: Front end judder when braking
Good news is the new discs have fixed the judder, so I guess we now know that the runout limit in the Hynes book is not tight enough if you fit stronger calipers.
Still being a bit gentle as I bed in & temper the new discs, but it is all smooth even at silly speeds...........I am a happy chap, I like it when a problem gets solved.

Can't beat Braking Wavy's IMO - got them on my GSX1400 and they are absolutely superb, even in the wet. Soon as I can I'll be fitting them to my Storm.AMCQ46 wrote:Ok, I am back from other distractions like visiting Barcalona with the Mrs, and then Sking with mates, and what with the sun being out I got a few more miles done, and can report.
Anybody got any good or bad reccomedations for aftermarket discs?
Simple thing I think when it comes to aftermarket discs - you get what you pay for.
Just thinking on your judder - have you checked the bobbins on the discs are free (if not then insert a bolt and turn them). Sometimes one or two can jam up a bit, and cause a judder. Assuming the discs on the Storm are floating discs of course.........?
Re: Front end judder when braking
