Skidmarx or Powerbronze??

Post by steveb137 »

Hi all,

I am thinking of putting lower fairings on my bike, it seems that there are mainly 2 brands Skidmarx or Powerbronze.

Has anyone any advice regarding quality, fit etc. of these 2

There is £40 difference in price... which is best :?:

they both look very nice on the bike.
ive got a pyramid on mine but must say i prefer the skidmarx.
depends on the fittings as well and how accessible the bike is under it, ie do you have to remove the fairing to look at timing, ccts, oil filter etc...
personal choice. :whatever

with the pyramid the finish was ok though i got an unpainted one, can't say what the colourmatch and finish is on a prepainted one...
also, not sure about the other makes, but the pyramid is a rough fibreglass finish inside.
as this is partially visible on the bike and collects dirt under the sump, i would've preferred it if they had given it a gel coat, some heatproofing even...
apart from that it's ok and easy to fit.
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Re rough fibreglass finish..
This makes it easy to repair if your ever damage it, or a bolt pulls through the mounting point.
Plenty to key into.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Mine turned up today, extremely happy with the quality for the money, and the fixing kit is outstanding. maybe the best after market kit ive seen. will post some pics tomorrow or thursday before i fit em.

And they came pre painted in black, which tbh could of gone straight on the bike, but getting em painted to match the respray job,and stickered up, then laquered too. Well worth the money, And the wait (they are made to order)
