Are You Lost? Get a Map!

Post by Pete.L »

Finally gone and done it. This little trip to Mugello made my mind up and my normal home bodge map had to go and I went and got a proper one. :D
Up 8 HP and 4 lbs of torque. Nothing too special there but the hole thing is so damn smooth and all that gentle farting about with the throttle from 2-3K is gone
Just look at that torque curve from 5- 10k. Bloody thing just wants to rev off the clock now! :eek2

Sorry it's a crappy photo. My scanners gone poop!

Can't wait! :D
but I will, don't expect me in the morning! :D

Funny thing was, I only popped up to http://www.timblakemoreracing.co.uk/index.html
to have the map checked I had written. I just wanted to make sure I didn't drop a valve or something silly on the way.
Tim does a diagnostic run, and I expect him to come back and say "That's not bad it should be good to go" instead he walks out of the tuning bay and says "Your map is sh!t, it's all over the place. I'm going to build you a good map" He then promptly turns his back on me and walks off into the tuning bay 8O He didn't even ask if I wanted it done 8O
Needless to say, I would have had it done anyway but it would have been nice to have been asked.
The thing rides like a dream now. I thought it was pretty eager before but now it just accelerates faster and faster until it hits the red  change gear and a big pop from the exhaust and it just starts again :D Love it!

Tim what time do you want me turning up Friday? I wasn't planning leaving at the crack of dawn, didn't know if you were working or not. Obviously not as you'll off to the dyno tuners  So I can turn up whenever it suits.

Pile cream, whoopie cusion, sun tan lotion
Tickets, money, passport.
Looks like I'm all sorted  I did a practice run today and loaded the bike up with everything and got a few miles under my belt. QUite impressed really, she obviously felt a bit heavier but not enough to affect the handling in a bad way.
The heat going to be fun, as soon as I was doing under 50 it was boiling 8O Looked like I'd just jumped out the shower when I took my leathers off 8O .
I'd be up for a shorter trip next year. I might get away with a week if I speak nicely to the Mrs. Not going to mention it until next March though :shh:

Nath,
if she ever came on here I would have been dead long ago
I wish it was a freebee, it set me £150, he does them a bit cheeper if you buy the lot from him but I don't know what he would charge for a dyno jet tune. Mines just pushing a few keys on a keyboard remember.
Chris,
she can spit some serious flame on the over run, I wouldn't want to be behind me

Thanks Chris,
and I must admit to being a little slow  It wasn't until after I had hit send that "Sh!t Map!" "Best Let Tim Lead" sank in.
You're just too sharp for a Monday Morning

3 Hours in a meeting not giving a toss, I just spent 6 on a mass spectrometer and the fecker's still not working :biggrin Hmmm, me thinks my mind could be elsewhere :whatever

Pete and Tim,
It sounds like it'll do you both good to have a break from the daily grind. Have a great time boys and do take care
