I know there is alot of information on this subject, but it is spread over a number of post.

I believe that an old CBR600f rear wheel goes on no trouble because on the micro fiche it shows that the original CBR600f had our rear wheel then they changed to the 6 spoke 2 years after.

My question, would the front also go straight on....

cant see why not, although you mite need to pack the swingarm with a shitload of spacers! :biggrin

CBR600F3 front wheel is a direct fit, as is the 94-97 VFR750. In the rear, the CBR900RR (up to and including 99) is also a simple swap...
