Track day suspension settings

Post by Buckers »

Morning all

Beauty of a day in on the storm this morning. Let's hope the weather holds for my track day at Cadwell on 23rd June.

Has anyone got any advice on settings for track days using the standard suspension? I weigh 11st. I think the front preload is too soft and the compression is too soft as well.

Any help is welcomed

if you're not happy with the front soggies, you might want to consider upgrading the springs a bit...
i put wirth progressive springs in mine, on special offer from wemoto and the difference is unbelievable, they feel good and stiff now, don't dive when braking, feels a lot better in corners...
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Thanks - yes I've got a quote for that job £220 with fitting from kais, plus adding a spacer on the rear to sharpen it up.

I want to see how I go at Cadwell first though, so I wonder if the std settings can be at least improved from stock setting to something a little more track biased

Anyone?

8O springs set me back 73 delivered with new oil, spacer is a fiver off ebay or 10 mins with a vice & hacksaw.
springs took a hr to fit, spacer 5 mins.
not a bad hourly rate that lol!

fair enough if they set it up for your weight etc.
ftr suspension will refurb your original rear shock with a new progressive spring that suits all weights - or supply only for 79 delivered.

i think you'll notice a big difference with what you are having done - no point spending megabucks unless you are serious on the track
by megabucks i mean several 1000 for proper fancy kit!
