sp1 problem

Post by snipper »

any ideas peeps

for no reason on starting up

the rev couter goes across and a slight delay the pump primes up .. the soleniod just clicks .. try it a couple more times and it will
turn the starter motor ok ...

battery fully charged so i was thinking a relay ? or solenoid

cheers

Have you run a meter over the battery?

not got a battery tester but stuck a charger on and its about full needing a 1A trickle

it just seems odd having a delay with the fuel pump priming when its usually instant with the rev counter when ignition is turned on

then not enough power going through the soleniod

things to check - solenoid wiring - more likely to be the connectors on the solenoid than the solenoid itself.
battery terminals, earth (-) strap to the chassis, reg/rec (not just storm r/r that fail lol!)
could also be a fault with the ignition switch - hope for your sake it isn't a fault with the HISS2 system

the fact that you say there's a delay suggests something is happening then a relay energises.
you need to follow the wiring diagram and work from the fuel pump+ back, see what else has to be on in order for it to operate.
i take it all your lights and indicators are working ok?
only asking cos if one isn't, it could be using a lot of juice and dragging the voltage down?

thanks chaps

i'll just check all the wires again .... nice nest under the pillion seat with the meta system

its been ok today but i've felt the relay when its turned on and a slight delay when i feel it click ...
there is another relay on the far left which im going to check if its the same and swap them over to see if it cures it :?

it was fine when i put it away but then it was sat for just over a month while i tried to fight off a chest infection
