Just picked up my Black 99V Firestorm, just run-in with 10k on the clock, virtually stock apart from braided front lines.
I'm gobsmacked by the low-down grunt......it blows away my old Aprilia Mille R, which was revvy and not so usable on the road; and it's a HONDA! - so it should be infinitely more reliable than an Italian twin! It's certainly more comfortable even though I'm 6'2" and sounds better......and then there's over-run!!! Sounds like you're being chased by thunder - It's so addictive rolling on and off the throttle.
Getting about 40-45mpg taking it easy, so rumours of poor economy and tank range aren't an issue.
A Honda with a soul!...........now where's my keys

Re: Mille Beater
Although it sounds great with stock cans the Remus Ti's should liberate a few nore decibels. Tatman's wrapping them for post as I type.....canny wait!
Part of the reason I always wanted a Firestorm was I saw one at a petrol station in Spain on the way back from the Jerez GP in 2002 with the back end jacked-up and tail-tidied - looked and sounded awesome; my X11 was on stock cans at the time and I couldn't even hear the engine was running as I thumbed the starter (kra£$%^&) as the VTR pulled away!
