Tyres= Has anyone tried

Post by Fireman on a Storm »

An 010/012 front 020 rear bridgestone mix.

I was thinking of putting an 020 rear on after squaring off my 012 a bit to quickly doing some motorway milage, hoping that I could get a bit more milage out of it.

I had an 010f 020r o n my Bandit and they worked fine

Is £130 fitted a good price for a rear?

Thanks

What sort of milage did you get out of the rear?

It had about 4.5k before I changed it ant it was still legal at that.

Putting that into perspective I got about 1500m miles out of a rear MEZ3 under similar riding conditions!!!!!

4.5K?? No complaints there I reckon! 2.2K from my 204 Dunflops!

I have just had a set of BT014's fitted for £170 so your £130 for a rear 020 sounds a lil high, I may be wrong??

The fitter who sold them to me did tell me never to fit 010 front with 012 rear, which I thought was quite a logical choice considering the different compounds but he says riding in the wet is very dangerous as rear heats up quicker front?? 8O

2.2k from Dunflops, jeeze nearly done 2k on mine and showing no signs of wear.
So wot is it with this riding lark, I cant find the pedals on mine and it's totally knackering riding it like a kiddies scoot, lost 5 stone in wieght.
Anybody got any clues :?: The fuel economy is good though!
Slow in, slow out. Ohh err missus, now with added G-Force carbon fibre race cans. Sounds like a Spitfire.

Looked at mine, and loh + behold, just above the tread wear indicators at 2072 miles.
How can a tyre that is such a bag of Sh*te, wear so fast.

i just changed 207 to bt 010............
got about 8.500 from the rear and bit more from the front.

never liked them, never felt safe but couldn't afford to bin em.

bt 010 not going to last already off the tread on both sides,
cool.
it may be clever, but its not big.

I have fitted the 020.
So far it seems to be working well with the 012 front. I am over to the edge on the rear and it feels as planted as the 012 was. I have pushed it quite hard but havn't had a chance to give it a good thrashing yet!

BT 020 v BT 012

Post by freshfunkmeister »

Just changed from BT 020 to BT 012 (front and rear). Still tread left on the 020 but on a recent brands track day, by about the third session, the rear started to go slidey slidey on clearways=poo in pants. Can't fault the 020 on the rd but the 012 front makes the bike turn in about 30% quicker and hold a much tighter line with much less effort than the 020 front. Haven't really pushed them yet though (only been on since friday) but doing snetterton this weds (all day session with superbike mag) so hopefully will be able to appreciate the difference. Will post the results !!
As soon as I read about the dangers of drinking too much, I immediately gave up reading.
