Re: APE CCT
Oh nice, i've just ordered some ape cct's and now i learn they work loose ?
Re: APE CCT
My front manual CCT worked itself loose on the way to work the weekend just gone. Stopped what seemed just in time and tightened it up only for it to go again 1/2 a mile down the road. Just taken the head off and it seems the cam chain has slipped and im gonna need some valve work

Re: APE CCT
Well got mine today and got stung for vat by the post office (£ 25 ) now im worried about using them if they work loose, if threadlock Really does work then great, but i'll get the hump if they work loose all the time especially if any damage .
They look great but feeling a bit peeved now, mind it has been a bad week .

taxman got me as well lol, threw away the savings i made from importing them!!!Pointblank wrote:Well got mine today and got stung for vat by the post office (£ 25 ) now im worried about using them if they work loose, if threadlock Really does work then great, but i'll get the hump if they work loose all the time especially if any damage .
re the locknut - put some loctite on the long bolt and make sure the locknut is proper tight - dont just nip it up on the o ring like you'd expect.
you'd thing that with it being a nyloc nut it'd stay put, but once it gets warm it can (will) work loose.
it's not the locknut that comes loose, that stays where you put it - it's the vibration of the guide against the cct that works the long bolt loose.
make sure you get the rad hose out of the way ( undo the rad and lift it clear) so you can get at it proper and make sure its as tight as you can get it.
(the locknut that is, not the long bolt lol)
ive done over 1000 miles since mine came loose and it's been fine since - and i don't ride like a fairy lol
