I assume short ones for the back, did you change the front ones as well ? if so did you have to use the long ones to reach out from the plastics ?? Also did you require resisters ? Sorry about lots of questions its just I is really stoopid.

Yep they are the babes, look great still trying to sort out photos of them on the bike they are fitted to the rear, short stem carbon, didnt fit the resistor thing that says it comes with cus it doesnt so they just flash a bit quicker, on other posts I have seen this might make it a MOT fail, but that goes with the exhausts, number plate etc anyway.

back to square one email failed delivery just returned on my computer, email, tinernet it'll never catch on!
I have flat led ones at the front, my old bulb indicators are on the end of their wire, stuffed inside the fairing which lights up the rad when indicating
apparently the previous owner did this to even up the charges or summit so they'd flash slow?
Anyone know if I fit led to the rear would the whole shebang still work?

Volts = Amps x Resistance
Watts= Volts x Amps
So Resistance = Volts squared / Watts
Volts = 12v
Watt = 21w (indicator bulbs)
Resistor = 144/21 = 6.85 Ohms
But thats if they're wired in line with the new indicators
I remember something about wiring them in parallel (across the terminals) to equalise the resistance but my brains turned to mush on that bit

From what I can remember all the above is based on ohms law, but also I am pretty sure bulbs aren't ohmic conducters ????????From what I remember of my physics A-level

Watt = 21w (indicator bulbs)
If the LEDs are as normal red ones then the resistor would go in series I would of thought to increase the load.

So Ben was right at 6 ohms and in parallelHI there,
The resistors you would need would be 25 watt and 6 ohms.
You would need 1 on each indicator and yes the y would be in parallel.
I have recently received 2 samples of 3.9 ohms meaning you would only need on per side, but have not tested these as yet.
I have a strong suspicion that these will do the job.

All this is far too technical for a mear idiot, so when anyone has tried and tested these for the front and rear LED's please let me know, and I'll get my biker mate to fit them, its great what you can get someone to do for a bacon buttie on a saturday morning!!!! 

If anyone one still cares, I have bought LED's for the front and back. I got a bag load of resistors from RS (http://rswww.com).
The std indicators blink somewhere between 70 and 80 flashed per min on my bike, so thats what I aimed for.
For a single LED indicator as tony from motrax said a 6.8 ohm resistor accross the terminals (in paralell) returns the flash rate as above. He was also right that for LED's front and back a single 3.9 ohm resistor does the job.
I used a 17 W resistor at 6.8 ohms and a 50W resistor at 3.9 ohms. the 17 is possibly small and a 25 W would be better. Beware though if the indictors are left on for more than a minute or 2 the resistor gets quite warm. I plan to use the 3.9 on each side and mount it to the frame under the seat. These resistors also are about 2'' long.
