1982 Moto Guzzi V50 III

Post by Phil-VTwin »

On my way to the local shops i got chatting with a guy who has 4 Guzzi's in his garage, he mentioned last year that he wants to get rid of the 2 oldest ones, an 82 V50 Mk3 and a Spada.

It hasn't run for a couple of years and needs some work doing to it but overall it looks a sound bike, he wants £300 for it but before i commit to the sale does anyone on the forum have any experience of these bikes??

Thanks

mate had one from new - iirc they are a belting plodder but slow as crouton lol, especially after getting off the storm!
very comfy for relaxed touring tho & i expect there's quite a community seeing as theyre a bit of a classic.
worth a go at that price, what have you got to lose?
(apart from £300 lol)

take the spada off him tho :cool2
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

I've always loved those old Guzzi's and nearly bought a 1980 V5o as a project a couple of years ago, but I don't really have the time or space, but I'd really love a V50 or V65 for warm summer evenings with an open helmet and just pootle round the backroads :D
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

V Twin....ave it. Even better if you get hold of a Le Mans. Classic as a classic thing. Big monry once restored yet big money to restore. For that sort of money you could always go the cafe racer route......classic!

Give him £500 the pair, sell the one you don't want to get your money back.

Bike for nothing!
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Tony, my ex said to get them both but she had £ signs in her eyes

Next time i see him, i'll ask the price for both.

Parts are cheaper then Honda and some of the common problem areas, valves and final drive gears were re-done in the last few years :)

Now i just have to raise some money :(
