Pillion seat back - for percieved safety?

Post by topgooser »

I am looking to try and get a seat back type contraption to allow a number of people to feel safer when riding pillion on my firestorm - mainly girls who are scared tbh.

Something to give them support on their back so they do not feel like it is possible to fall off the back.

Is there anything that I can buy that would fit the bill?

It also needs to be easy and fast to take off and on if possible, any ideas?
Really Nice, isn't it

Gawd that looks hideous 8O

You want a PillionPal or similar device. A webbing belt with 2 handles.

Stu

PS that thing looks absolutely horrible , don't do it

Love handles

Post by ktd001 »

Don't do it!!
I agree with Stu, get a set of Love Handles (no, really) or Pillion Pal. My 15 year old son was really nervy on the back 'til I put a set of handles round me waist and now he loves the bike. Same with a friends 7 year old daughter. It also makes them better pillions 'cos they're not always trying to 'out-guess' which way you're gonna lean.
Oh, and they're only 15 quid!
I ride way too fast to worry about cholesterol.

Man that looks bad!
Really the best thing is tell em hands on the tank for braking, youl be leaning forward that way sao fine for acceleration and easy reach of rider for sh1t scared moments. Your bike'll handle better with passenger leaning forward, Assure them its ok to hug MMMM...... Biker lady pie....

Anyway dont mash your bike with that seat.....
I got knocked down, but i'll get up again and you'll never ever keep me down!

Euuuuew that NASTY !!!!!!

who in their right mind would fit one of those to a storm!!

I've got a renntec sports rack/grabrail (not fitted at the mo), but they've got a small raised bar, which is just enough to support the pillion's backside and give some "re-assurance". + they can hold on properly then....

Got mine (both together) for £45.00 off E.Bay, might be worth looking out...

This months "Bike" does page on pillions. They advise that the pillion should have their left arm around your stomach, and their right hand on the front of the tank just right about where your best bits are. Hein Gericke have the Love Handles for £14.00.

Are you sure that was Bike mag you were reading? Sounds more like instructions from Gay Biker magazine. (not that i've ever read that myself you understand)
