Hi all,
Does the vtr need any rejetting, etc when you add after market cans? My Vstrom 1000 definatly needed a power commander to sort the fuelling if you changed the cans.

Re: after market cans
not unless you have also fitted a k&n (or similar) air filter.

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Re: after market cans
Check with the manufature first. Some after market cans boast they don't need read jetting, others claim you can benifit from rejetting. If you get a race can you must rejet.

Re: after market cans
I am runing a pair of Micron race cans with standard filter and the bike does not need re jetting, plugs do not show any signs of lean running and the fuelling seems spot on.

Re: after market cans
I've always dyno'd my bikes with aftermarket cans/performance parts.
For the cost it's worth checking and you know how much it's chucking out

Re: after market cans
I had a base run done the other week (unbaffled stubbies) - and I am ever so slightly lean - which I intend to sort, as Bennhedges suggests, by raising the needles 1 clip....

Re: after market cans
Only cans I've fitted to the 'storm that haven't required a re jet are the ones from Fuel Exhausts. Even then I took it with a pinch of salt that they wouldn't need doing. Was pleasantly surprised. The Leo race cans I had were a pig.
