Re: SILLY QUESTION I KNOW BUT
the seat cowl covers the pillion seat. it just clips on, but you need to remove the seat to take it off.
easy - just unlock it and it should slide back!
cans?
yes it makes a difference in performance (imo) as it reduces backpressure and lets the bike rev free-er
either that or it just sounds faster so you ride it harder.
at the discretion of the mot guy whether it passes or not - there doesnt seem to be any pattern of logic to bikes passing / failing on noise.
but imo you are better keeping them standar(ish) because as soon as you debaffling them you will want some fancy cans - might as well keep the std ones as they are

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Re: SILLY QUESTION I KNOW BUT
rule of thumb is...over 101db it's a fail...but no test centres have meters yet...most testers(including me) turn a blind eye to cans unless the minastry mans there, then it's a fail..not that we like failing them but because we have too..
keep the standard cans standard m8 and fit some after market ones,i've got twin microns fitted and they sound fantastic...ebay..theres a few systems on atm.
