Sounds like a clear cut case of TWOC to me, and once my brother had regained conciousness I would have explained this to him.
Simple this- call the police, I would say if you leave the situation as it is, it won't change and he'll do it again.
Time to teach him a lesson.
I've got a few parts, so if I can help, send me a PM.
Chris.

Unbelievable, that is frickin terrible. I hope you get to the bottom of it. You need the bill involved to be honest no matter what shi* it causes at home.

1st off im very sorry for you.
2nd, move out.
3rd, dont ever speak or see your dad or your brother again.
4th, Either, dump it in a coal mine and claim a theft, or break the bike and sell on ebay and keep your no claims, if you claim be prepared to have a massive renewal charge next time, in the first 2 years driving you are looking at doubling your premium. Sell as scrap that gives you enough to move out nearer work, Id rather live in a sweaty bedsit than with a pair of flowers like you are. If you are gonna keep it then I have a pair of standard cans you can have. Chin Up.

Jesus, I feel for you.
First off your bike gets totalled, then you're facing two years inside for topping your own brother.

b8stard deserves all he gets.

My own brother (the failed vicar) gave up bikes after his visor steamed up after I'd asked him to drop off some tools to me when I'd broken down, and he had to get out of the shower.

He rode his moped straight into a parked skip.

It was ok, though, as he'd already dropped the tools off and I'd got my little cafe racer started.
But when I got home my dad made me fix up his moped.

Any parts you need that I have I can donate, PM me. Got fork lowers, steering head, RH side fairing in black, and engine bits.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Well, gobsmacked at such an act and firstly, I'm so sorry to hear about this, what a total rock :Argue 1: (other words can't print)you have for a brother and as the old saying goes, don't get mad, just get even...very very even. Myself, I'd arrange for someone to 'borrow' said bike, not know where it got to :?: 8O :?: Where on earth did you find it officer? My God, it's damaged isn't it..Where are my ins docs...

Meanwhile that getting sorted, get sorted with somewhere else to live (I think I read it as you all live in the same house?) Get a nice peaceful place with safe parking and don't let family know of your new address..It seems only then will have any peace of mind. There is obviously no respect for anything or anyone in your brothers eyes and as such, he's not likely to change no matter what you say/do. Explain to your parents in a calm manner(harder to do than say) that in light of recent events, the lack of trust/respect and support in such matters leave you with no alternative but move out/on and that in time they will come to realise where it is going wrong, but you can see them when have a day off etc, and will keep in touch. Your life will be that much more stressfree for it.

I would have personally beat the living daylights out of my sister or brother had they done that to me. It sounds to me that boy needs to learn a lesson in manners/respect/and how the real world operates and I'm afraid clinging to mummy and daddy won't quite do it if they bail him out all the time. Sounds like they all need to learn a bit of a lesson. I'd still call the police if you are looking to keep the bike etc and get your brother done for the theft and damage and break the bike or repair at your own cost to keep the premiums down.

Hope you get some peace of mind soon but if I were you, I'd seriously start looking for somewhere else to live/houseshare with a friend/workmate...and in doing so, keep it to yourself that you're moving out until you are going etc..Just don't let them know where to...All the very best..

well everyone saying claim insurance but as he said, that's the shitter - he's only tpo
so the only way to get it fixed would be to sue for criminal damage.
tbh i can honestly see plod saying, oh well. next.
they'll just say it's a domestic problem, sort it out yourselves.
unless of course, as some have suggested, he may have done a bag snatch or spend half the night going through speed cameras befor hitting someone's merc.

if plod do eventually catch up with him and he makes a statement saying you said he could borrow it, you will get absolutely fkt for lending it out knowing he has no licence, insurance etc...
minimum 6 points for seb, fine & possibly a nicking.

similar thing happened many years ago when i borrowed a mates car to nip the offy while he was asleep... i got pulled over, no insurance etc, he told plod he'd lent me it and he got fined more than me.

much as i despise plod, sometimes you have no option but to tell the truth. and if bro & dad don't like it crouton em.
how do you know your bro didnt go for a ride with your dad?
mightve been your dad who dropped it?
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

personally i would take the tack of filling his car with fixing foam, make sure you do it whilst its away from your house though, reckon that will cause an equal amount of damage,

unless your after a slightly more suttle effect then fill his exhaust with fixing foam, but make sure its the back box you fill, mechanics tend to diagnose a collapsed catalytic converter an they aint cheap,

not that ive ever tried either of the above methods

What a load of crap! He has committed several offences (criminal damage, TWOC, no license (i guess), insurance etc) and the police would certainly want to know as long as Seb is willing to go all the way with it, i.e. court etc, not an easy process and he needs to think about the effect all this upset may be having on the rest of the family, ie his mum.

This is not an easy thing to do against your own family, regardless of what you may think of them. Add to that the fact he would be made homeless as well, not an easy decision at all and i dont envy him of the situation he is in.

Personally, I would bide my time and see that the brother gets what is coming to him at some point, and fix the bike if possible. If the brother breaks the law, grass him up - if he needs anything, dont give it to him. I am a great believer in karma and what goes around comes around. He will need a favour one day and you can be there with a huge mug of "go f**k yourself" when he does need you.
Well said! My sentiments exactly. As you say, not an easy decision to make or be involved in and one you have to live with all the same.

well had the bike picked up today by D.Hill mobile mechanic, used him a number of times, very fast and very reasonable guy, he was shocked at the state of the bike when he tried to ride it up the road

he loaded it into his van, striped it at his and then gave me a quote, and this does not include tank or front fairings or exhausts, £1,800

so dont think ill be having the bike fixed at all, and that would be with mismatched plastics too.

not sure what to save up for now, maybe a TL100R or an SP2 or a RSV1000R or something else a bit radical....

at the moment I'm buying a 200 quid 1978 CB 250 Super Dream to get to work on in the meantime, it had 20bhp in 1978 so wombles knows what it will have now, im not a tiny guy either at 6'2 / 6'3 and with more than an ample frame hoping its not gona look like im on a bmx its bad enough that its two tone baby blue

cant wait to move back out the parent's house, was the best time of my life not being around my brother.

thanks to those that offered parts etc.
