bike wont tick over any help?

bike wont tick over any help?

we were bought in a vtr firestrom 1000 on a R plate. Anyway we stripped down the carbs rebuilt it got it all back now the problems start its all set up ready to balance the carbs but when you start it up itl tick over for mayb 40 seconds then cuts out tried scanning thru hundreds of the posts and just cant find a solution weve checked all pipes breather hole in cap evrything but just cant get it to go for anylonger any1 got any sugestions because were determined not to be beaten by a bike!!!! :confused

vac pipe on the correct connector on the tank???
blocked pilot jet?
sticking choke plunger?

try funnelling fuel straight into the carbs see what happens.
air filter blocked?
sponges back on the airbox breathers?
airbox snorkel not restricted?
fuel tap diaphragm damaged / sticking?

get the pdf manual from the workshop section - check out the fuelling troubleshooting guide ;)
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

you can try giving LEE's motorcycles in Ledbury a call as the mechanic has a VTR and he is a decent bloke so should help you out 01531 634475

Sounds like the vac pipe to me... made exactly the same mistake a few weeks ago.

Have a look at this thread so you can check yours

Agree - sounds just like the vacuum to me too
