Mine is under the seat, near the rear on the n/s cable tied to the frame. vac feed from a t piece on the pipe that goes to the tank . (rear carb balance feed point also) Vent pipe straight out the back of tail . Gunna relocate the oil drop pipe though, fed up of rim getting soaked

that's where i put mine, with a bracket so it runs in line with the shock, bolted to the top subframe bolt on the left.
i set the feed pipe to drop on top of the chain just after the sprocket cover - no more oil on the rim.
before i had it dropping onto the sprocket carrier and it worked ok but kept moving if i backed the bike up.
took it off atm til i sort the vacuum things.

i started with it dripping onto the rear sprocket carrier, but when i wheeled the bike bacwards it was catching the drop tube and dropping oil onto the tyre.
so i fitted it so it feeds just behind the front sprocket, on the top
took it off altogether atm while i'm fkin about with vacuum & stuff

also if it does throw any oil off it goies inside the sprocket cover and not on your tyre.
by the time the chain has gone round the sprocket, the oil spreads pretty much over all the chain.
it's out of the way there, and like you say, no cable ties and tube along the swing arm

It'll get there anyway. Dropping on to a chain moving at speed the droplets will break up into a spray, and the oil mist will just stick to anything in the area.
First time round the front sprocket is a small diameter, so there's not too much centripetal force flinging it out.
But if you used one for the newer two-pipe outlets you could set it so that the oil drips under the top run and drops on to the top of the lower run.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
try using chainsaw oil instead of scottoile oil.
it sticks like sh1t lol. very good stuff, much clingier than scottoil.
get it from b&q or any tool hire shop
and it's a bit cheaper.
can't say i noticed oil on the tyre at all with it dropping onto the front sprocket.
if it does, you have it set too high. just turn it down a bit.
1 drop per mile is recommended & imo is plenty to keep the chain lubed.
