LED Indicators

Post by steveb137 »

Help required :problem:

I have just bought a set of 4 LED mini indicators in the sale at HG. I fitted them and the flash rate was a bit fast. Went back to HG and purchased resistors, 2 types available 21w and 10w :confused On advice i got the 21w and was told that if they didn't solve the problem they would exchange them. Went home and fitted them - no difference, still rapid flash :( .
Went back to HG today, exchanged them, went home and fitted them - still no change :wtf:

Any advice on what to do next would be appreciated

you could take the easy route and fit a bulb inline somewhere, that would slow the rate back down. not sure if you`d need a bulb per side or a bulb per indicator though, but it will work

Thanks for the advice, 'Motrax flash it ' on tomorrows shopping list

Next question :?:

Where can I get blanking plates for the indicator holes in the front fairing? I got some from HG and also ordered a set from e-bay, both sets are too small even though the HG are Honda 'universal', and the e-bay ones stated Honda Firestorm.

Ahh! Opps!
saw your other post fo blanking plates first so I answered that one without fully knowing what you are up to. Could just put the mini's on the rear and hide them behind a side light on the front. :D

they continued to flash to fast as you need 1 resistor per bulb, halfords do the flasher relays for led indicators for about £15 i think, may be quicker than getting one online

I bought the same too and yes too small. When i did mine i took the plastic part of the oe indicators off the rubber mounting part and pushed the threaded part of the mini ones into the oe rubbers then drilled a small pilot hole in the rubber and screwewd a small self tapper into it and that then goes into the rubber mount on the mini ones. Mounted them back on and the mini ones stick out of the old hole with the rubber ring around the hole in the fairing and it doesn't really need a blanking plate on it. If you do want to make your own blanking plates, i bought a small sheet of 3mm black acrylic and drew around the others and made a set bigger but i never needed to use them but they did look good when i offered it all up.
would make more use of a set of butt sliders these days

did same with mine - just superglued them into the flexy rubber oem stem, works sound - they stick out just right.
i broke one before i realised the stem screws in
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Thanx for all help and advice

Finally managed to get them sorted :D Motrax flash it unit fitted and exchanged front LED indicators for the longer ones (40mm) these then fasten to the original indicator holes on the inner fairing. Look just like cunningstunt's pics. Also cut down rear licence plate holder and fitted smaller plate, looks a lot neater from the rear now. Will post pics tonight.
