Post by seb421 »

This is where i'm up to, spent a lot of time on ebay and Dave silvers this last week, pricks didn't sent my clutch lever with my delivery said out of stock! didn't say that when I ordered...

Total Spent so far is over 730 quid that's just on the above items I still need all the bellow :eek2

929 / 954 disc's
929 / 954 / 1000RR 04-07 wheel

Right Handle Bar (929 / 954)

Clutch Master ? unknown if kneed replacement, cant test till have lever.
Foot pegs (929/954 items if can get cheap)

hopefully can also just get a replacement Can for the left side and a single replacement link pipe from Blue Flame, fingers crossed!
wanted Blue Flame Titanium Exhausts but that's out of the question with the price now, I expect the wheels and disc's to set me back about 250 to 300 quid, saw some for sale down south but collection only

It's like Christmas at the moment with all this sh1t coming through the door daily!

also that 'wet dream' has its MOT tomorrow, know already she will fail, the bitch was also a judder ride to and from work on Friday (first time it had been in rain too) the bike was stuttering kinda like some one was applying the brake slightly for a split second every few seconds

and the ohhhh cam chain noise, what a feckin noise! louder every day now fearful of taking it over 5K for fear of it going bang, got some pads for it other day so will fit them before the MOT and if it passes will change the oil filter and oil for the new stuff that I ordered, also she's had an air filter too, sh1t quality tho, two sheeeeets of plenty would be better

Did I also say she broke down 3 miles from work one night on the dream (Thursday i think) and I had to push the wombles to work, then graft like wombles, I didn't loose my rag tho, was my fault as i had turned the fuel tap wrong way, its a 3 way tap I think but the previous owner had sprayed the tap so couldn't see on / off / res on it and tried the tap but couldn't get it going again so assumed the I ha the tap in the right place anyway.

nothing worse than pushing a sh1t heap of an old bike, in your sh1t work gear, past sh1t loads of sally's, pub's and housing estates.

sounds like its coming along.
know what you mean, postman and delivery vans were on first name terms after a week or 2, knew to leave parcels in the shed cos it took me so long to get to the door lol!

there's a guy on ebay selling a good pair of standard wheels cheap with brand new pirelli corsas (i think)
prawn68 i think his username is.

the guys wheels have gone now

think they would have been storm wheels any way,

I would ideally like the 954 wheel over a 929 as its slightly lighter but have seen a newer 2004-2007 blade wheel so might get that but dont think the look as nice as the 929/954 but I think they have the same disc pattern

hope so because i want to fit the 330mm disc that the 954 had

Hi Seb sounds like the rebuild is going well, were the forks of ebay?, I was going to see if you were around at the weekend, but have been sidelined by injury, slipped on some wet limestone flags and winded myself thought nothing of it till I woke up unable to breath, turns out I puntured my right lung, so writting this in hospital, docs says any form of sport including riding the bike is out for the next few months BUMMERhttp://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/posting.php?mode ... =7&t=17306# :(
Anyway if you run into any trouble on the rebuild you can give me a bell or email and we can compare notes,
Cheers Phil.

phill, sorry to hear about your accident, sounds f-ing bad that!

get well soon

do you know if the 04-07 front blade wheel has the same disc patten as the 929/954

if so will get that wheel and stick the 954 330mm disc's on, also got my self a pair of 954 callipers wasn't sure if the storms would fit and got both for 70 quid ish

I used an SP1 front wheel with 05 CBR1000 discs same fixing centres as the 954 so you should be fine, I know the storm calipers fit on to the SP forks and pretty sure they should fit on the 954 forks, but 954 calipers may be better anyway, I'd like to know what the differences are between the 954 forks and the SP1's. We'll have to compare them when your done (if I can ride).
cheers Phil.
