Farting and popping

Post by Jazzscot »

Was out last night for a run of about 10 miles with no probs to report. Went to the garage this morning and started her up again no problems. Ran her along the road about a mile or so to asda to fuel up again no problems.Fuelled her up and off I went. She started farting and popping all over the place. Usually the popping starts at 4k revs. If I blip the throttle she will pop when I |let go also.

Question could it be bad fuel causing the symptoms??? If I pull the choke out a wee bit as Im riding the popping seems to go away.

Any advice pleeeeezzzzzz

was it raining when you filled up?
just wondering if theres a bit of water in the fuel sseing as you say it was ok til you filled up?
ive noticed water collecting in the rim under the fuel cap on mine, maybe some's got in or the fuel in the asda tank is contaminated?
might be worth going back there and report it - i did at the local bp a few years back and they just added my name to a list of other people who'd complained and i got my money back a few weeks later.

i'd imagine some folk go to town on it claiming its wrecked their engine or catalyst and stuff.
that'd be my first port of call tbh.

or maybe you sucked some rain in through the airbox snorkel and it's wet the filter?
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Panic over!! Turns out that the little bolt I had used to block my front vac take off point had come out. Fitted a new blockage(bolt) and all is back to normal.
