RC8 ?

Post by Beamish »

Hooning about yesterday with a couple of mates, one on an RC8 and a couple on fireblades. Must admit I have really taken to the RC8's he paid £7995 brand spankers, I watch with interest on how it fairs for reliability and how well it stands up to the weather, down side is the aftermarket exhaust. If you dont get a one off made the only people that seem to do one is Akro at £1500. His is standard and you cant hear it if he is within 1 mile of my SP  . The SP still cuts the mustard with the latest metal though, the new blade is a fookin quick bike (as I well know) but on a smooth set of twisties the SP was chewing at his Arrow exhaust. One year on and the only SP2's of similar age are going in MCN for the same cash I paid a year ago

could be just the angle the photos taken from but the Y piece on that exhaust looks a bit shallow to me could end up reducing the gas flow through the exhaust

You tempted? :)

Saw one at Glasson today, orange one, i still cant get past how plasticy they look. Also, thought they were about £14k new, they've dropped a lot if they are now £8k.

Might work but if not just go BikeTrader, KTM, RC8 and national search.... loads at little money.

Might be right mate but at 150 odd BHP it shouldnt miss the odd pony, definately sound better to a Yorkshiremans pocket that £1500 worth of Akro :D

I really like em Jim-looked at one the other week-they "stand well" in the flesh rather than on piccies.

Wouldn't mind a go on one if I'm honest

I have always loved the looks of the RC8. Saw one for sale recently and the paintwork around the tank filler was left than perfect I'm afraid. I think they look rather 'stealthy' with their angular lines.
Yes, I would like one of the newer orange coloured ones since they sorted the initial ones gearbox grief.
So an RC8R would be even nicer.
