100-120 was best on mine (general) I've never had a twin with decent tank range-the buell was by far the best.

Your bike is unbelievable BH-180mph, 180 miles to the tank...

I have never managed to squeeze any more than £16 in, even when the indicator is flashing at me. By my reckoning and todays fuel prices (which are a bit lower than when I ran it right down) leaves 5.1 litres or so. In no way was there that much sloshing around inside when I took a look.
You could be right, I've got the bigger tank and even when the last bar is flashing I've never put more than £16 in........ever, and it dont seem like theres loads left in the bottom of the tank!!

Kinda depends if its just round town or on open road, around town it can go within 6-7 miles but otherwise its around 20-30 miles. But.......when i used it for running over to newport from bristol (28 miles) from full i could use the first 2 bars easily, sometimes 3!!

But as your speedo is way out, ie it reads way higher than the speed you are really doing (storms dont do 180mph :) )
can't be that far out bud - according to gearing commander calculator thingy, http://www.gearingcommander.com/
at the limiter, 10500rpm in 6th gear, standard rear sprocket, -1 on the front, it should read 175mph.
check for yourself - maybe mathematics is innacurate too :whatever

if it got to 10500 in 6th with standard gearing, it would top out at 187.
said it won't hit the limiter in top sat up, but tucked in it flies there.
dont forget it has different cams etc to let it rev higher and breathe better... standard it wouldnt hit the redline in 5th & 6th, never mind the limiter.

yours probably wouldn't cos you are like 6 foot 10 and 30 stone

timbo whats your problem m8, we all know the speedos are out, im not saying my storm does 180mph, i simply stated in another thread that the needle went off the clock when i got behind the fairing lol, with a wind behind me, on a very long private airfield... (more than once)

why do you have to dismiss everything i say as though it's all b/s....

i say ive seen 188 miles before a refill... er i must be lying, because your storm didnt do that!
it cant be right because my speedo is clearly more wrong than everybody elses lol

has nobody else seen 160+ on the clock of a standard storm? course they have.
(whether they were actually doing 160 is another thing)
then isn't it obvious that if you modify a bike so it pulls to 10500rpm it will show a higher speedo reading than one which barely pulls 9k?

maybe gearing commander have miscalculated the circumference of my wheel or something?
maybe i should get another new speedo.
and check my tank holds 19l and not 24

It's not all b/s.

Some of it's baldrocks.

Am I helping at all?

Ive alsao seen a tad over 160mph on standard gearing, and also had it off the clock on 1 tooth less front 3 up rear, but try keeping front whel on the floor , lol. nowadays im lucky to get 100 miles before the light of death :)
