Fuel Filters

Evening all, has anybody here / is anybody using inline fuel filters? My bike died on me a few weeks back because of debris in the fuel tank that ended up clogging up the jets. Basically I want to avoid this happening again by using inline fuel filters. If you are using them what size are you using and can you recommend me some please. It's a '98 plate storm

when i painted mine i had similar problems with overspray getting in the carbs... i just use some 8mm inline filters.. you can get them from any car shop, halfords for example.
i got a load of them for work & tey were only 98p each,

google 8mm inline fuel filter
clear ones are best then you can see when they are dirty - get a few.

Just ordered some large ones off ebay, 5quid for the pair and they'll fit 7-10mm fuel lines

I have been using 2x inline fuel filters for ages, as my internal screen filter got damaged.

Be wary on the type of filter you use though. The tiny clear inline car filters work, but because they are paper based, they deteriorate quite fast, and then the fuel flow is very slow.

Try to get the proper bike filters, as they have a '"metal mesh" inside, the fuel flows faster and they last longer.

I never realised there was a difference in them, I assumed they would be the same just bigger. I'll deffinately keep an eye on it then, thanks for the heads up

thing is with them cheapo paper ones, theyre ok for catching crap if you know there is debris in the tank, theyre clear so you can see any contamination.
you can get snazzy chrome ones as well with washable gauze elements if you want bling, but for a cheap throwaway item the clear plastic paper element ones are fine imo, just as you say, keep an eye on them.
