Could be a cheap(er) way of upgrading the OEM rear shocker.....

Sounds like a good idea but if you keep your std shock chances are you can put it back on when you sell it and still get more selling the Ohlins unit separately. You hardly every get any more on the resale value of the bike, especially on a trade in, for leaving any bling on it. If fact a lot of folks don't want to know it if it's not standard.vtrbarmy wrote:Just had a mail through from FTR Suspension, they are offering up to £150 trade-in for your old shock, for anyone who fancies a nice Ohlins unit.

Very true Pete, totally agree, but then OEM rear shocks are cheap as chips on eBay. You could buy one trade it in, get your money back easy and still get a discount from FTR.Pete.L wrote:Sounds like a good idea but if you keep your std shock chances are you can put it back on when you sell it and still get more selling the Ohlins unit separately. it does say 'up to £150'
for a standard firestorm shock you're more likely to get £1.50
Sounds like you've thought it all through and got it all worked outVery true Pete, totally agree, but then OEM rear shocks are cheap as chips on eBay. You could buy one trade it in, get your money back easy and still get a discount from FTR.
FTR also do progressive springs if anyone is looking to upgrade.
I happen to have a WP shock on the back of my VTR and the transformation it made to the handling was untrue, showed up every flaw of the standard shocker. Suspension upgrades are never cheap, but they do make bikes a lot nicer to ride, transforming the handling.
