gonna buy a new helmet soon and also thinking about getting a pinlock visor, though the cost of a visor and insert adds a bit to the price.

anyone have any experiance with pinlock?
is it worth the money?

and more importantly, i was recarpeting last week and found some vintage (70's) porn under the floorboards. would it be wrong to cut out some of the pictures and glue them into the betterware catalog before the lady comes round and collects it on weds?

Q2 first. Wrong on many levels but a complete hoot. Unless it's too specific and she calls 5 O on you, but even that will make everyone else laugh!!
Pinlock visors are really good for maintaining vision on cold mornings, no misting at all on my Arai Chaser. Better than cat crap on the visor (the product not the result of kitty and a vindaloo) or anything else I've tried - washing up liqiud, Bob Heath visor clear etc, oh and plain old gob. Yuk.#

Expensive but great in the winter, I had a dodgy one once that didnt work cos it didnt seal properly but yeah go for it. Arai+Pinlock = £50

nice & cheap at http://www.racevisors.co.uk plus you get a nice belly bag for the spare visor.
just remember not to wipe the pnlock insert if it gets dirty, wash in soapy water and leave to dry naturally otherwise it fks the micropores & coating.

i dont use the pinlock on my raid2 cos i find the top edge is right in my line of sight, but on my qwest it#s perfect, couldn't ask for better.

before pinlocks i used to buff the inside of the visor weekly with a dab of green swarfega - works very good.
a rep showed me that at a bike show ages ago.... try it - it works

For 12 years instructing in all weather I use the Fog city incerts. It's lice a stick on pin lock. They even do a react to light on that goes a few shades darke in the sun.

I've a pin lock on my Arai. it's good but no better than the fog city. Appart from the fact you can take the pin lock out. I WOULD EVEN SAY THE FOG CITY GIVES A SLIGHTLY BIGGER AREA OF VIEW!

Got pinlock on my Shoei XR1100 and it's great. No misting what so ever. Shoei are doing an offer on their stuff where you get a tinted (legal) visor and clear and the pinlock insert free.

i bought an arai from crossan at the tt this year, they threw in the pinlock FOC and it is fantastic for cold or wet days.

They also provided professional race fitting FOC (basically adapted the correct size shell with the correct inners to make a perfect fit).

The guy told me to never use anything but soapy water (fairy liquid) to clean a visor, the chemicals in loads of these tinned cleaners and sprays can cause the visor to become brittle.

With regards to the 70;s porn, send me some and I will give an accurate response!

I'd love a Pinlock or FogCity - however - I use a "Roof" RO10 and RO20 - and the shape of the visor negates fitting (which is an butt as by black race visor mists up in the middle of July) I use "Catcrap" anti mist - but it doesn't really help...

Got a Raid II and it came with a pin lock, love it and wouldn't be without it. Do have to spray my specs still with MucOff something, lasts a week.
