Would'nt mind having alook at some point as I want to do the same to mine cos it's bloody uncomfortable!!. I work at Hull uni if your passing or I'm quite often up swanland visiting the family so could pop up to Brough and treat you to a pint in the buccaneer??

Let me know

genmars

Post by tony.wilde1 »

went for a 100 mile 2 up ride today with the genmar risers fitted.i'd say its about 60-70%better on the wrists.before 10 miles used to cripple me solo!!worth a look if you dont want to cut yer fairing buy hoses etc.cheers.oh and if you do think about getting them buy them direct from genmar in usa.works out 30quid cheaper than a purchase in uk.even when you pay shipping and vat and customs!!! 8)

Could you tell me the cost of the conversion ( yolk bars etc) and was there a lot of work involved.

There was somone else on here who did a similar conversion ( it was a Black storm) but I can't find the pictures any more.

The Black storm re-shaped/cut short the top end of the faring where it joins the screen.

I am asking because my wristis buggered and I may have to sell the storm

I've got renthals on mine, along with an ABM billet yoke. At the moment I've left the fairing off and just stuck a small bikini headlamp unit on but come autumn I'll cut the fairing and do the job proper.

Had to replace one of the braided lines for a longer one, had to hack a little stop tab off the clutch and brake perch (where the hose joins it) and reroute the throttle cable, clutch line and tidy all the connectors up in front of the headstock.

Cost: http://www.busters-accessories.co.uk
Angled raisers £29.50,7/8 ultra low bars £15.00,Grips£?
top yokes £147.00 did not use

(1)I drilled existing yoke to take raisers made some 10mm thick ali spacers for under side of yoke to spread the load
will now buy a top yoke now i know things have paned out.
(2) Cut fairing if you do it like mine you have to pack out between
fairing and mirror fixing lugs and or bend them out a bit.
 i would just cut stright across the fairing screen about 25mm
from mirror fixing lugs to make life easier.
(3)Fit braided lines the rest go ok

P.S. you could get the superbike bars 820mm and have less hacking todo as they look lower :?:
when you have done all this the bars seat pegs are all in the right place as i used to think the pegs needed to go up and back

Have Fun John
