Just shows what you can do with a bit of imagination and either buckets of cash or a shed full of tools (and a bit of knowledge of what they are for!).
I have never been a great lover of Japanese customs since they started trying to be Harley. Why would you copy something that only really sells because it is an original? So to see the running gear utilised in a chunky little monkey like this make perfect sense.
There is a guy over in the US who is making a name for himself producing chunky cafe racers from sohc 750's (English ex pat but can't remember his name at the moment). He has sold a few to some names, one being in the popular beat combo Greenday.
Very nice. Bet they are fun to ride

Stevie, we must have similar taste as I also liked the look of these bikes (I think air cooled engines look the best for this style of bike) when I came across the green bike last year. I never thought about posting it on here :) so good move mate. Here's another photo of the green bike.

That's a similar concept to the MT-01 .... big air cooled V Twin in a very capable frame. I like that look a lot.

looks great - could do with a fork brace methinks....
why dont we see bikes like that in the showrooms?
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

I was just thinking ,that engine looks a big impressive lump in the cafe racer ,yet you hardly notice it in the Virago .

Who fancies a winter project?... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/YAMAHA-XV750-VIRA ... 500wt_1156

I wonder how many parts of the standard bike are actually used in the cafe racer ?... it's hard to tell without having a proper look, but going by the pics it looks quite a lot .

Norton 961 anybody?

Saw my first SE at willingham woods today, absolutely stunning. Not sure whether the owner had added trick bits but the yoke and exhausts were definately different. It also had BST carbon wheels. Fricking expensive though!

Mmmmmm. Storm engine would look ok in a twin-tube old skool frame.....
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
