Dynojet carb kit
I got a carb kit along with a piper filter and two carbon can's as a deal.
Tony had a look and thought that some parts may be missing from the carb kit.
Does any one have a list of parts that come in the kit or better still a set of pictures of what should be in the kit?

My kit was part number E1185.002
2 DJ170 mains
2 DJ180 mains
2 DJ 190 mains
2 DNO277 needles
2 DW0001 washers
2 DE0001 E-clips
1 DD#40 drill

dont drill the slides and dont fit the springs (if you got any with it)
it fks up the way the slides lift and messes up the mixture between 3 & 6-7k
you should also get 175, 185 & 195 mains - and a template to use when drilling the slides.
with a good set of cans & bmc you will probably be best with 180/185 - with k&n 175 & 180.
use the standard needles but jack them with the washers in the kit, and fit 48 or 50 pilot jets.
do a forum search here for the pilot jet part numbers - ive posted it somewhere.

Don't they include pilot jets?
You get them with the Factory Pro kit.
Mind you. mine dyno'd better with standard pilots in.... go figure.
Anyway, I'll have to get mine set up again once after I slap the tuned lump in.

the stage 2 comes with pilots but not the stage 1 kit.
mine was weak as hell low down and is noticeably smoother with the 50s in - it pulls from tickover now whereas before it had an annoying splutter which meant i had to keep the idle up over 1500.

washers and e clip will be needed [well I think I used my washers but was so long ago I cant remember].
I will measure the drill if you want and you can buy that from B&Q

On closer inspection the "e" clips are on the needles.
So I'll need some washers.
But whats the drill for?

dont bother with it m8.
its to drill another hole through the slide to make the slide lift quicker, but on the dyno you will see that it opens it too fast and comes on the main jet too early in the rpm range, fking the mixture up.
might work ok on other bikes but not on the storm - i tried it and its sh1t, ended up blocking the holes up again

DJ want you to drill a hole in the base of the slide to make it lift quicker.
benny had a USA kit and has other mods on his bike, mine worked fine with drilled hole as instructed........who knows

if you want i can mail you the little jig that came in my kit - it helps you line the hole up in the right place.
try it & if it gives you a massive flatspot up to about 6500 you know the slides are lifting too quick.
i blocked the holes up again with a piece of o ring superglued in then bladed the end off smooth.
amcq didnt notice the flatspot because he uses his throttle like a on / off switch

mid range flat spot is a side effect of the K&N race filters, The Storm is realy tough to jet with them fitted, my flatspot went away when I junked the filter!
Was great on stock honda, and even better with BMC ROAD [not race] filter
But have to say in 10 yrs I still havent dynoed it, so only going by feel

got a bmc race filter in mine atm and its fine but its took a long time to get it right lol!AMCQ46 wrote:

glad it's ok anyway cos it cost me £88 lol!
think the part number is a b14404r - have fun trying to find one lol!
you will also probably find it will run better with the stock needles in but jacked up 1mm, instead of running the dj needles.
and bigger pilots to get rid of the flat spot just off tickover.
standard is 45, i tried the recommended 48s in mine and it was still weak so i'm currently running 50s and it pulls hard now from idle.
