You could change it for a Varadero - odd we've never had any XL1000V owners in here that I can recall...

Good point, strange that they have never come looking for engine advice :confused Nice bike Swagger.

Thank you for that. I do appreciate that I'm very fortunate to have them. They will be with me for a good while and they'll be very heavily used. I do about 18,000 miles a year through all of the seasons.

I can not tell you how good that Super Tenere actually is. It seems to get better and better each time I ride it. I never thought I'd want an adventure bike but now I know what I was missing I'll make sure that there is always something similar in the garage.

Interesting to hear what you have to say about the Super Tenere. It looks a nice bike too, and very handy to carry the odd thing or two having the panniers.

Now if I had panniers on my bike when I was out yesterday I could have carried a few extras that could have helped me stay a lot warmer. As it was I had my thermal long johns on, winter gloves and winter neck warmer, but I was still freezing long before I got back home. Somehow though I don't think panniers would look right on my Storm :)

Those panniers are wee bit much for splitting commuter traffic. I've discovered that the back of the pannier (they sit at an angle) is essentially just below door mirror height on a lot of cars. If you are required to fiddle aboot trying to get through stationary traffic and have need to grab the front brake, you find the front of dives and the rears lifts slighty .... just enough to dislocate a door mirror  Oh what fun. They are perfectly sized for a couple six packs and large curry for two.
