I doubt that 20miles will be putting enough back into the battery, considering all the things you are using plus the initial start. It seems like you are getting enough power going into the battery at 14 volts. If you're sure the batteries you're swapping over are in good condition may be a bigger amp hr battery as others have done would help.

Earth is fine, Checked it about 5 times now, my bike starts, charges the batter at 14v on tick over then at 5000RPM the voltage drops to 13.3v with lights on and 13.6v with the lights off.
I've got a RR coming off an R6 and my battery still isnt here, so i've had enough of waiting am just going to use the bike.
It will break down again, if the bikes not charging above 13.5V then it will cut out.
You might want to double check your R/R - Is it a finned later one, early unfinned or aftermarket?

What's the condition of the starter motor lead esp. where it connects under the rubber hood. Check for corrosion and if any winter crap has got past seals into s'motor.

Yes, a good idea (as Wicky suggests) to check the lead connection on the starter motor as they are prone to corrosion. They have also been know to cause resistance as they get older. You can check this out by using a jump lead (or any heavy duty cable like cooker cable) from the battery (+) live terminal to the starter motor terminal, just hold it on the s/motor terminal enough to start it only. Check both ends of each battery lead to make sure they are tight, and are corrosion free, note the live (+) cable goes to the starter solenoid [located in behind the seat/tail plastics on the left hand side (clutch lever side)] so check those connections too.

If none of those show up anything try checking the voltage again at the battery terminals immediately after doing the 20mls journey while the engine is still hot, it could be the alternator is breaking down only when it's hot.

Be very careful holding a cable carrying starter current, if the connection isn't great then the joint where the cable is held on will get very hot very quickly.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

instead of a jump lead use a guitar string held very tightly.
for best effect wrap it round your scrotum a few times.

Wasn't that the technique employed by Eddie Van Halen when he played "Jump" on TOTP?

A very good point Tony, best stick to my preferred jump lead then, at least they have some protection in the form of insulation on the clamps,
