Really you’re better with to completely separate corves having them on the same plot at the same scale gives a false impression as you look at the two curves
If you look at where the HP and torque curve meet it will be at about 5300 rpm
Go on line and have a look at some other dyno graphs set out the same way and you’ll find that nearly all of them cross at 5300 rpm
Nothing to do with the way the engine makes power and everything to do with the maths in working out HP

the curves ALWAYS cross at 5252 rpm (az logical product of the formula hp=rpm x tq/5252) when the same scale is used to denote both hp and torque. WHY they chose to print it using different scales is beyond me as it creates the illusion of the torque curve being peaky.
