Post by Fireman on a Storm »

My bike was parked in the footpath out side a house I was working in. Then CRASH :( the bloody thing fell over all on it's own.
The tar mac just gave way in the sun, the side stand sank in and it fell over, staight into a fence post. 3 inch split in the fairing allong the edge just under the left clip on. BUGGER

Honda dealer said £199 incl vat

Hate when that happens!

Keep an eye on eBay if you want to repair on a budget.
Otherwise contact http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk they have Fairing panel, Left hand - Yellow colour code Y124 (FV/FW) .... £135.00

You could also try some breakers?

Thanks
I checked davidsilver yesterday. The pannel they have got is the early yellow mine is the later colour. £199 was the quoate, same a Honda main dealer.
I have got to se a bloke who does plastic welding and spraying and se what he can do.

I have got MCN and will have a search around before I part with any money.

I have thought of that one, but I think I would still need to get the left pannel sorted so that when it is time to sell I can put it back to standard.
I keep looking in the gallery, there was a black storm with flat bars abd a new top yolk with details of where the parts were bought. But I can't find it or the post about it :(

The top yoke conversions are from Busters and are £140, they are supposed to use the standard cables/hoses etc, If you go that route make sure you get the ABM or Lucas one not the MFW as you have to change everything. Either one you still have to trim the top end of the fairing to accommodate the bars.
Currently looking at doing it with mine as I can't stand the wrist and back ache any longer. just waiting for some pennies to come availiable.

If you are considering a repair then have a look at a product called Plastex.
