Any ideas - Headlights...

Post by MacKrell17 »

Ok - so I need a new set of fairings and I've seen Mario Nava's creations a few times. He has also made this one that he calls the VTR1000R.... looks pretty cool.

So I was asking him about the front headlanp and it comes off a Peugeot Speedfight 50cc ped. But he also said that it is nowhere near the power of the standard VTR light (which as we all know is a bit pants). So I figured just add some bigger better brighter bulbs. Piece of cake. However then he mentioned that adding brighter bulbs will melt the plastic (I assume the housings). So the question is can anyone think of a way to increase the power of the light without increasing the heat to stupid levels? Or alternatively can anyone think of a way of stopping the unit from going into meltdown? Obviously I could just go back to the original shape and use th original light but I thought a change would be cool.

Any suggestion welcome

Cheers all Neil

Put HIDs in it - that would help - especially if you got the 55w versions (most are 35w)....
